The somewhat open nature of the minutemen would allow for a diversity of views even if the majority view is that synths are 'lesser/dangerous/whatever'. I agree pretty much entirely, my point was that the organizations are not diametrically opposed as say the Railroad/BoS. Deacon's story about the lynch mob may have been fake, but my money says things like that actually happen. A farmer may not be looking for escaped slaves, but if he sees one he's sure as ♥♥♥♥ gonna shoot it dead. Even my main character, whose entire everything is based around being the Minuteman General, is a member of the Railroad. That being said, the two factions most certainly can coexist, the Railroad just has to stay secret and underground. Oh absolutely, but just because they don't hunt them down actively (at least not on my orders anyway p) that doesn't mean they wouldn't shoot on sight. Some minuteman may share the BoS attitude and some might have railroad sympathies, it depends on the person/community. ![]() The minutemen don't seem to pro-actively hunt down synths otherwise they would simply be a lower tech version of the brotherhood. The minutemen are simply a militia and not a 'closed' military organization like the BoS, they could be a minuteman to protect their home/family as well as being an agent of the railroad.Īs for the generals dilemma that possible (even likely in my view) outcome but I think it's important to recognize the difference between actively helping synths (railroad), reacting to threats in the commonwealth (minutemen) and pro-actively seeking to destroy threats (BoS). A person could foreseeably be in both even if the rest of the organization has differing opinions. To a degree but the railroad is also made up from the people of the commonwealth. Even as the Minuteman General if you were to announce to your troops that you were ordering them to start helping synths, regardless of the situation, you'd end up with a mutiny on your hands and even in the best case scenario you'd probably have to slaughter most of your troops and rebuild from the ground up AGAIN. ![]() The Minutemen are primarily made up of the common people of the Commonwealth, and those common people have basically made up their minds that synths are the enemy and should be eradicated.
